Case Study - D-Haven::
Developer Berin Loritch approached us about developing his company's logo.
D-Haven is a developer community portal with an emphasis on developer collaboration.
The task was develop a logo which reflected Berin's personal interest in Martial Arts, particularly the Samurai. It was to reflect a Zen-like simplicity which connects with modern audiences.
After reviewing several possibilities, the leaf was selected for it's simplicity. Three identical shapes were developed to demonstrate the idea of a group. Opacity among the leaves was differentiated to supply depth.
A clean sans-serif font was was used to associate the smooth shape and convey a modern look. Text was set in lowercase to reiterate simplicity and place more emphasis to the graphic portion of the logo. Several text combinations were mocked-up and the customer selected to emphasize "haven" as the focal point of the type.
